The International Program (IP) of Faculty of Industrial Technology is a program included in the university level of education in engineering field of study. Currently, IPFIT offers Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering field of study. In the future, the program will be developed for other study programs at Faculty of Industrial Technology.
IPFIT requires all lectures, discussions, assignments, consultations, and other academic activities conducted mostly in English.
International Program of Industrial Engineering Department (IPIE), UII shapes curriculum in order to equip students with the following 21st century of industrial engineers competence:
In the immediate future, the globalization brought forth by free trade (via AFTA, APEC, and WTO) will put university graduates in fiercer competition with foreigners in the labour market. Companies no longer care about where talents and skills come from; their concern is the quality of those talents and skills regardless of the countries of origin – how can these talents and skills help them survive and thrive in this competitive global class in order to survive and be competitive.
Indeed, the IP was founded and designed to do just this. Building on the Program’s goal the Program has adopted teaching-with-case method in lecturing and designed various courses that contain elements of simulation and application of information technology to equip the graduates with not only cognitive skills but also communication ability in transferring their knowledge.
Considering the economic crisis and the need of university graduates with global technology talents and skills, the Program has received positive responses from the public as a place to seek that. The prospectus students are under intensive supervision by reputable lecturers and professors who have mostly graduated from respected international universities. The IP also invites guest lecturers from overseas academies and/or reputable related subject practitioners to deliver general lectures on recent technology issues.
Why the International Program
A world is viewed as an integration system of people, machine, equipment, materials, funds, management, and organization. Everyone is aware that to acquire a simultaneous integration, one must hold a competitive advantage over others. This implies that to succeed in this era, one should not simply rely on one’s own special advantage. Rather, one should accordingly adapt to the change or fail. Moreover, the engineering world goes beyond the development itself. It is boosting to reach the peak.
The International Program, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, The Universitas Islam Indonesia offers curriculum and syllabus for four year undergraduate programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. Students are trained with experiments and laboratory work as well as theoretical studies. The principal objective of the undergraduate industrial engineering curriculum is to provide an opportunity for personal maturity and intellectual growth on the basic of Islam for the attainment of professional competence and for the development of social responsibility.
IPFIT graduates will maintain a balance between cognitive skills and all skill required to challenge global competition.
To establish “link and match” between education field and industrial field, some subjects are delivered by one or some guest lecturers from business practitioners.
