Department of Industrial Engineering was established in 1982.  Experiences made this department strengthen its commitment to improve the quality of its graduates in planning, designing, implementation, controlling and system development.

Besides improving graduates' integrated hard-skill based on information system, Industrial Engineering also has commitment to educate and prepare the students and graduates with soft-skill based on risalah islamiyah that refer to exemplary figure of Rasulullah SAW.  Therefore, the objectives of Industrial Engineering Department is to create a scholar that able to detect problems accurately and systematically as well as find best solution for existing problems and able to perform professional Islamic work ethic.

Strong consistency based on principal of Continuous Improvement in performing education system is acknowledged by "A" accreditation from National Accreditation Board (BAN).  Hence, Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Islam Indonesia is positioned as the only department in Industrial Engineering field that a accredited "A" for Cental Java and DI Yogyakarta area.
